We recently were introduced to Shay, a 26 year old single mom with active soon-to-be 8 year old twins! Shay has a degenerative neuromuscular condition which has confined her to a wheelchair and consequently to living in the unfinished basement of her parents home. (She is no longer capable of going to the upper level of the house.)
They have done their best but things could definitely be better! (Portable toilet/no shower or bath)
Our intention is to install a functioning toilet and handicap shower, finish out the basement area and build a separate bedroom for the twins in a section of the garage.
